Bio Sheila

Sheila Kalas is the owner/founder of Fitness Plus, Inc., a personal training and wellness company, established in Lexington, KY in 1995. She has her Masters degree in exercise physiology from the University of Kentucky. In addition to running Fitness Plus, Sheila is a personal trainer herself, specializing in clients over 50.

Sheila has been a contributor to several fitness/wellness publications, including The Chevy Chaser and Women’s Health, as well as appears on radio and TV as a wellness expert. She has consulted for several fitness businesses and designed corporate wellness programs for local companies. She helped develop the personal fitness trainer educational program at the Lexington Healing Arts Academy and developed and taught a “business of personal training” course for the University of Kentucky Kinesiology program.

Sheila has served her community by serving on several non-profit boards, including, but not limited to the International Book Project, The Kentucky Folk Art Museum and Cumberland Valley National Bank.

When she’s not working, she enjoys running, playing golf and playing with her dogs.

Bio Jane Curth

Jane Curth is a retired college professor in Kinesiology and Health who taught for more than 20 years. She is an ACE certified personal trainer and has presented at 18 local and national conferences. During her tenure at the college, she developed many online courses. After recognizing the need for quality, affordable continuing education opportunities in the fitness industry, Professor Curth founded FitFixNow. With FitFixNow, Professor Curth hopes to bring the fitness industry into the age of high-quality online education.

In addition to being the CEO of FitFixNow, Jane is a consultant and model for Silver Sneakers®, and a former member of the over age 50 hip hop Atlanta dance group, Silver Classix Crew. Jane also likes sharing her knowledge with the next generation by being actively involved in The Mentor Project as a mentor.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, grown kids, and grandkids! She loves reading, creating new courses, and her rescue dogs!

Bio John Stuef

John Stuef is the inventor of the Strong Over 50 Body Weight Bars and loves helping seniors to stay fit and healthy. He has spent over 10 years of his career in the fitness industry, gaining experiences in areas such as senior fitness and nutrition.

While fitness is his primary job function by day, John also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife.
